I'm running kernel version 2.4.9 with various Red Hat patches (rpm version: 2.4.9-21). > What Idon't understand is how do I switch to only the external > monitor only. Upon startup I get both screens as you describe but > can't switch video modes. How do I do this? Did you try running "xvidtune -next" and then "atitvout"? Are you sure it is using both video modes, the 1024x480 and 1024x768 one? You may be able to tell by inspecting the output of the X server. By the way, it is vital that you use the "crt_screen" option, because otherwise it will reject the 1024x768 mode as being too big for the built-in LCD panel. If that happens, then the "xvidtune -next" step won't have any effect. If you need more help, I suggest responding not just to me but also to the mailing lists and include both your entire XF86Config-4 file as well as all of the output from the X server. -- Joe _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
