Hi Xperts. This problem happens to me at least since XFree 3.3.5. Today it came back at April 4th EST 8:00. 280 clients died. Grrr. Servers and clients are x86 based Debian or RedHat Linux running XFree 4.1.0. Surprisingly there are no solutions for this problem. I'm no XFree code expert, so I can't give it a guess. The "too many keepalive retransmissions" message is triggered in xdmcp.c where "timeOutRtx >= XDM_KA_RTX_LIMIT" seems to be true. Maybe someone can give me a hint why this is dependant on the system time of the X clients? I can report (and have reported) this problem again and again. Leaving such problems in an unresolved state are NOT very representative for "rock solid" unix operating systems. Any help would be _really_ appreciated.
