I am having some problems with Xv and a Oxygen VX1 card. If I try to use an XvImage wider than ~200 pixels the image becomes strange. With widths ~200--400 pixels about half of the image to the right is replicated to the left. Is this due to some undocumented padding between lines or the like? With withds > 500 pixels the picture is really strange and flickers even if my program is suspended. Is some other memory used for the image? The height of the image makes no difference. It is the width of the actual image, not the displayed size that matters.
I am using XFree86 4.2.0 on an Alpha cpu running linux 2.4.18 and glibc 2.2.5. All programs I have tried that use Xv behave the same way. Is this a bug in the glint driver or am I missing something. If it's a bug, is there anything I can do to help fix it. I don't have any information on the chip so its a bit hard to debug on my own. The same machine with permedia2 graphics works fine, just slower and too large XvImages cause a BadAtom error. Is there any chance it will work in the near future? Please send/cc replies to me so i don't have to drown my mailbox with this list. Thanks in advance for any help.
