I have an Alpha LX164 with the same video card running Red Hat 7.1 with the latest 7.1 Alpha XFree RPMS and have seen the same behavior, so I think it's a problem with the Permedia driver or card, since it's happening on completely different machines and architectures. I've also had the card lock up just doing "normal" X stuff in a GNOME session. I simply don't use X on that system any more. :-) Mark -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- http://www.gibraltarsoft.com "If you can dream it, you can do it." -- Walt Disney "This is false." -- Larry Wall
