Hi there,

I have a friend that has just bought a Thinkpad R30. We are having
problems getting X to function properly. The graphics card is a
CyberBlade Ai1 DSTN (as far as we can tell).

The problem is that in 24 bpp mode the images appear very dim (trying
with the brightness control is of no use). Trying 16bpp shows a bit of
"technicolor" effect on some pixels (as if some red bits were taken as
green ones or something of the like). At 8 bpp everything works OK, but
of course it sucks :-(

We first tryed with the latest XFree86 4.1.0 from RedHat 7.2. We then
tried upgrading to RedHat beta (i.e. skipjack) XFree86-4.2.0-6.52 but no
change.

Does anybody know what could be going wrong here? Any useful option to
put in the XF86Config file?

TIA,

Diego
