I had the same problem w/ my Dell OEM version of the Radeon VE.  The 
maintainer of the radeon & ati drivers sent me a patched binary version 
of the driver which has allowed me to successfully use two monitors w/ 
this card.  The patches may have been checked into CVS by now, but if
