I seem to be seeing a problem with the 2D display on a Radeon 8500 with
the XFree86 "radeon" driver. It shows up most with the ThinIce gtk+
theme, where the ends of scrollbar thumbs show up corrupted. Also, the
corners of Mozilla buttons are also corrupted. This doesn't happen on a
Voodoo 5 5500, nor with the ATI binary FireGL drivers on the same Radeon
card, but does with all versions of XFree86 4.2 I've tried (including
the Gatos drivers and the latest XFree86 CVS trunk). Attached are some
sample images of the corruption - badscrollbar.png and badbutton.png
show the corruptions with XFree86 CVS trunk, goodscrollbar.png and
goodbutton.png show the display as rendered by the FireGL driver (and my
old Voodoo 5 displayed this in the same way).

I am supposing that this is something to do with pixel math, but I'm not
anywhere near understanding where to start debugging this.

In case the attachments don't make it through, I have also placed these
