Hi all,
I am trying to install Red Hat Linux 7.3 (Kernel 2.4.18-3)
on my Dell Precision 330 with the 3Dlabs Wildcat II 5110 graphic card.
The installation is a success but Redhat used VESA (generic) driver for the
X-Server. The actuall VideoRam is 128Mb but RH made it 2Mb.
Worst of all, my Dell monitor is Dell 2000FP but now RH installation displays
only a resolution 640x480@60Hz while Windows 2000 got a resolution
1280x1024@75Hz.
I know that there is a commercial driver for it from XiG. But I didn't expect
such a bad resolution using a generic driver, before buying the XiG $299 driver.
Can anyone help to recommend a generic driver for a higher resolution
like 1280x1024 for the time being?
Thanks in advance,
Sun
