Hi,
I think I have the same problem. I'm using the r128 driver and after
upgrading to RedHat 7.2 and XFree86 4.2.0, I experienced freezes,
especially when moving long scollbars and playing DVD's. I added the lines
    Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps"
    Option "XaaNoPixmapCache"
to the Screen Section of the XF86config file, but that didn't help. Adding
the line
    Option "Accel" "off"
did help, but that made X really slow. So, does anyone know of a better
workaround for the problem, until it's resolved?

By the way, there was a thread with the subject "[Xpert]4.2.0 R128
hanging" on this mailing list in February, which IMHO discussed the same
issue. Seems like they didn't find a solution, though.

Thanks for your help,
Levin Fritz
