Hi All,

I just got a Sony CPD-G520P 21" CRT Monitor and wanted to use it as my output
device for the 8200. In short, how do I do this? Any help is greatly
appreciated.

I was however, able to get 1280x1024 working, but the refresh rate was 60hz
(actually i don't know what the refresh rate was, but i noticed flickering -
I'm very sensitive to 60hz refresh rates =) ) even though xvidtune reported
85hz vertical refresh. I can't get 1600x1200 working tho' I'd be happy with
either 1400x1050 or 1280x1024 with at least 75hz preferrably 85hz refresh
rates.

LCD native resolution: 1400x1050
Driver: Alanh's latest binary
    http://www.xfree86.org/~alanh/
    /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/trident_drv.o
CRT: Sony CPD-G520P 21"
Desired CRT resolutions: 1600x1200 1400x1050 (is possible), 1280x1024
Graphics Chipset: Trident CyberBladeXP 16MB RAM
Laptop: Toshiba Tecra 8200
OS: RedHat Linux 7.2
X version: 4.2.0
Kernel: 2.4.7-10 (default)

Things I've tried:

Made another "Monitor" section:

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "sony"
        VendorName "Unknown"
        ModelName "Unknown"
        HorizSync 30-130
        VertRefresh 48-170
        #Option "dpms"
EndSection

Made another "Screen" seection:

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Screen1"
        Device "Trident CyberBladeXP"
        Monitor "sony"
        DefaultDepth 16
        Subsection "Display"
                Depth 16
                Modes "1600x1200" "1280x1024"
        EndSubSection
EndSection

Made another "ServerLayout" section:

Section "ServerLayout"
        Identifier "poop"
        Screen 1 "Screen1" 0 0
        InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
        InputDevice "Mouse1" "AlwaysCore"
        InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection

I changed the display output to monitor only by pressing "Fn"+F5 a couple
times.
(This is necessary right? we wouldn't want 1600x1200 being tried on the LCD
right?)

started X like so:

demo% startx -- -layout poop

Thanks in advance for your help!
