Another side not, it seems the offb+nv (X with "nv" driver), as Noah
mentioned is very unstable with changing modes. Going back to console and
then restarting X will most often cause a hardlock.
With rivafb+fbdev (X with "fbdev") however, you can do mode changes
anytime without having the machine lock up.
And when one tries rivafb+nv it totally craps out, is possibly
something in the nv microcode that has problems with the microcode in
rivafb?
