Just for the record, I'm going through this same problem. My setup is primary Voodoo3 3000 AGP, and secondary Voodoo3 2000 PCI. I can use each one of the boards if set up by BIOS, but when I try a config with the two adapters together, my system (PIII 600 - 440bx chipset) hard hangs completely upon X startup. I've tried writing values to PCI register 0x30 (RomBaseAddress) on the secondary card as explained on the bug report, with no success at all. It always leads to severe system crash. Is this problem already addressed? Is there any workaround? I'm running RH 7.3/XFree 4.2.0 (rh build 8) and my scanpci -v output concerning these boards is as follows: pci bus 0x0000 cardnum 0x09 function 0x00: vendor 0x121a device 0x0005 3dfx Interactive Voodoo3 CardVendor 0x121a card 0x0036 (3dfx Interactive Voodoo3 2000) STATUS 0x8090 COMMAND 0x0000 CLASS 0x03 0x00 0x00 REVISION 0x01 BASE0 0xd6000000 addr 0xd6000000 MEM BASE1 0xd8000008 addr 0xd8000000 MEM PREFETCHABLE BASE2 0x0000a401 addr 0x0000a400 I/O MAX_LAT 0x00 MIN_GNT 0x00 INT_PIN 0x01 INT_LINE 0x09 BYTE_0 0x01 BYTE_1 0x00 BYTE_2 0x8073230 BYTE_3 0xffffffff pci bus 0x0001 cardnum 0x00 function 0x00: vendor 0x121a device 0x0005 3dfx Interactive Voodoo3 CardVendor 0x121a card 0x003a (3dfx Interactive Voodoo3 3000) STATUS 0x80b0 COMMAND 0x0003 CLASS 0x03 0x00 0x00 REVISION 0x01 BASE0 0xd0000000 addr 0xd0000000 MEM BASE1 0xd4000008 addr 0xd4000000 MEM PREFETCHABLE BASE2 0x00009001 addr 0x00009000 I/O MAX_LAT 0x00 MIN_GNT 0x00 INT_PIN 0x01 INT_LINE 0x05 BYTE_0 0x01 BYTE_1 0x00 BYTE_2 0x8075168 BYTE_3 0xffffffff > > My next step is to re-install 4.1.0 to make sure that I don't have > > hardware failure (unlikely, since I am able to use either card as long > > as it is setup by the BIOS).
