Hi, This often happens if you're using the wrong protocol for your PS/2 mouse. Check http://www.xfree86.org/4.2.0/mouse6.html and see if any of those configurations seem to correspond to your mouse. If you can't find something that looks right, you'll just have to experiment with the protocols. Nowadays, I've found that most mice are either ImPS/2 or ExplorerPS/2. However, if those don't work, give the other more obscure PS/2 protocols a try.
