you don't have this directory? xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/parser/ That doesn't make sence. It's not CVS. Do you have the a recent source, a tarbal like this X420src-1.tgz? It's quite strait forward. tar -zxf XF420src-1.tgz cd xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/parser/ Is it still missing. > Also, does this mean there's no "real" documentation, but just examples? All other forms of documentation or out of date by definition. :) In all seriousness, no probably not. most of the code expecialy the stuff that is part of the dix (device independant layer) doesn't realy have any documentation except a few random essays about different parts. And the ddx (dependant) has only enough documentation to sqeek by. If some one proves me wrong though, I'd be delighted.
