for measuring the average voltage they are okay.
this will unveil some permanent problems.
but intense grafics, hdd and cpu operations could
raise sudden spikes in power consumption which
those system monitoring devices will not detect.
its often only a tiny deviation in bus protocoll
slopes that make the difference between working
and locking the machine up. of course the motherboard
design quality, the semiconductors thermal behaviour
and the card sockets connection quality impacts here.
