Title: RE: [Xpert]gray bitmap on startup

Its not gray, its a pattern that repeats over the desktop.

It just helps to determine the difference between a black screen
that does not sync or not display due to misc reasons
and a working grafics adapter that is able to launch
a window manager soon. call it a feature. ;-)

here is the pattern:

...X
.X..
..X.
X...

i have no idea where that code rsides, but i have seen
that some folks have disabled that for their purposes.

lets hope someone can give you a better help in that case.
the code should be not nothing more than just 1 to 5 lines.
