Hello I've just got hold of a 64MB DDR Radeon 7500, and have experienced extremely fast 3D, yet painfully slow 2D. Windows take ages to redraw, and it just makes the whole X experience rather awful. I'm running Debian sid with XFree86 4.2.1 (Branden's debs) on an Athlon 850 with 256MB RAM. My kernel has all the correct stuff compiled into it or as modules - and as I say, 3D is accelerated and very lovely.
In fact, my problem is identical to something I googled up here: http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/xpert/2001-November/013204.html I'd have thought a fix would be sorted by now, since that message was posted 10 months ago? Is there a workaround for this problem? Thanks --jaa __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
