Greetings ;o) Trying to get XFree86 v4.2.1 up and running on my laptop (Panasonic CFM-34) running FreeBSD v4.7. It fails terribly and all I get is a blank screen that I can't kill off (kill -9 on XFree86 via logging on via ssh) won't do it and the only option is shutdown -r.
The last few lines of the XFree86 log file reveals: (==) Silicon Motion(0): Write-combining range (0xfd400000,0x400000) was already clear (==) Silicon Motion(0): Write-combining range (0xfd000000,0x400000) (II) Silicon Motion(0): Cursor Offset: 003FFC00 Reserved: 003FF800 (II) Silicon Motion(0): TFT Panel Size = 800x600 (II) Silicon Motion(0): vgaHWGetIOBase: hwp->IOBase is 0x03d0, hwp->PIOOffset is 0x0000 (==) Silicon Motion(0): Write-combining range (0xa0000,0x10000) was already clear (II) Loading sub module "int10" (II) LoadModule: "int10" (II) Reloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libint10.a (II) Silicon Motion(0): initializing int10 (==) Silicon Motion(0): Write-combining range (0xa0000,0x20000) was already clear (II) Silicon Motion(0): Primary V_BIOS segment is: 0xc000 (II) Silicon Motion(0): VESA BIOS function failed Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get XFree86 up and running?
