As I understand, you need a proggie which is able to use 8bpp
while 24bpp is available? One such program is "xv": "xv -visual
pseudocolor". Another is Netscape 3/4, which accepts the same syntax. In
old days "xfishtank" was able to run at 8bpp only -- at least the one in
RedHat-5.2 is such.
Does Matrox plan to fix overlay support in mga drivers?
