Could be greenish. At least, there are definitly 64 levels in gray visible
where on Windows98 the gray-shades of the same (24bpp TIF image) are not
distinguishable. I used several image viewers for the test (GIMP, xv, and
others). The test-image has of course also colors, where the same effect
can be seen.

I suspect that. There are also many TFT-screens which have only 6 bit DACs
in the LCD driver unit, so the bug might have been stayed undetected.
