I had a similar problem with a radeon 7000 (detected by Suse 8.0 Pro / kernel 2.4.18 as radeon VE QY). I upgraded to xfree86 version 4.2.99.1 (CVS) on 6th Oct 2002. The problem seems to be cured! By the way I'm using the DVI-I ouput from my radeon to a DFP screen (via a DVI-I -> DFP adaptor). Perhaps try the Option "noDDC" or Option "IgnoreEDID" (research with google) I never tried the above options -it's just a suggestion (quicker than downloading CVS xfree + compile and install).
One thing though, still haven't managed to get 3D working yet with the CVS xfree86 ver 4.2.99.1! > -------Ursprungligt meddelande------- > Frn martin f krafft <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Datum 12/10/102 17:35:59 > > also sprach martin f krafft [2002.10.12.1413 +0200]: > > Oh, and I realize that this might be something fixed in 4.2.1.
