Hi,

I have an iBook with a r128 LF. The video output in mirroring mode is
broken (recognizable but waves horizontally). I could manage to make
it work in 256 colours by switching to using the second CRTC (and
feeding it with the right values), but I failed to make it work in
15/16/24 bit modes.

I contacted ATI in order to get documentation, so that I could improve
the situation and also prepare some patch that wouldn't break other
cards which may not have a second CRTC (?). However I got no reply so
far. Can anyone on this list help me, at least get in touch with them?
I am willing to sign an NDA if need be.

>From what I saw, it looks like the R128 LF is much like a radeon chip
as far as dual-head is concerned: it looks like it should be easy to
add Xinerama support to the r128 driver. The registers for the second
hardware cursor do exist and work, the two different offset registers
work as expected, etc.

Thanks for any input,
 Aymeric
