I've seen this problem mentioned but the only fix I've already tried
with no success. I compiled and installed Xfree 4.2.1 on my Solaris
8 x86 machine. The Xserver works fine, the problem is one of
keyboard mapping.

The keys on the QWER and ASDF rows are off by one, on ZXCV row they
are out by two. Of course, all the 'important' keys like shift, CR,
backspace are nowhere to be found, and you can't kill the server with
C+A+bkspace! So my only hope is to type "exit" to get back to the
Solaris console, and muck around with XF86Config again. Repeatedly.

I've already got Option "XkbRules" "pc101_sol8x86" in the config
file, and this is acknowledged in the log file.
Xkb is not disabled anywhere, though I've tried that and it made no
difference.

Of course keyboard mapping is fine in Xsun, Solaris' native xserver,
but I need XFree86 because I need xinerama. And I like XFree86.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Even if it's just a
"Well I've got Sol8 x86 and I put X4.2.1 on it and it works fine!"
but I know I have seen someone else with the same problem.

Thanks in advance
Ben Torkington
