I am trying to chase up a bug report I made a week ago:

IBM Thinkpad 560E, X 4.2.1

X hangs on entering standby and box will not power up again. Laso
happens on switching to CRT from LCD.

I have just noticed that the log shows the Trident chip has been
misidentified. Is this a possible cause?
