My system uses Debian apt/dpkg though it is not a Debian system. I also have RPM installed but I have gotten used to using the Debian tools and prefer using them. Most of the time I use the "checkinstall" program to install programs built from sources. On occasion I will install a packages from Debian if I can't get the sources or can't get the sources to compile myself. Since my machine is not identified as a Debian system the dependencies are usually screwed up and I end up using dpkg with force dependences. I have used this Linux system like this for years and I know what I have installed so this works *for me*. Now having said all that is there an easy way to make debian packages from the Xfree CVS sources? I assume the folks who normally build the offical XFree binaries must have a buch of scripts or something. Fred Error Loading Explorer.exe You must reinstall Windows. _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
