I now know the problem is the combination of DGA and Xinerama. No matter where I look on the net, DGA is always disabled in configs that turn on Xinerama. Both programs I mentioned only use the XF86DGADirectMouse flag in the call to XF86DGADirectVideo and I don't think mouse movement has to be a problem with DGA + Xinerama. Now I would like to start debugging, but I have no experience whatsoever with making modifications to X. Is it possible to keep X running and only modify the DGA extension and then reload it or something? And how would I go about debugging it; will I have to compile a separate debugging version of X to be able to step through the source with a debugger? I suppose there are people around who have already figured out the most convenient ways to debug things like this. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
