Hi

I installed the XFree86 packages from RedHat Phoebe distribution
recently. Everything appears to be work perfectly -- picture is great
except that once every 10 seconds or so some ripples / waves appear
from the bottom right of the screen, travel up to the centre
(occupying the long diagonal - bottom left to top right) and then
retreat again to the bottom right.

Here are the details of my configuration:
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9000 Pro
Kernel: RedHat 2.4.20-2.2 Athlon
XFree86: RedHat XFree86 4.2.99 (Phoebe)
Monitor: 1280x1024 LCD, optimal vertical refresh = 60Hz.

I noticed that this interference pattern did not occur until after X
had started, and then it appeared both in X and also on the vesa fb
consoles.

For now I have reverted to XFree86 4.2.0 package, with the ATI
proprietary drivers which seem to work well, but aren't as fast
as the 4.2.99 ones -- I guess this is due to DRI enhancements.

Anybody got any hints or tips, much appreciated.

Thanks

John
