it looks like /usr/local/bin/xplor does not belong to Xplor-NIH. You
might run Xplor-NIH's ./configure like this:

  ./configure -symlinks /usr/local/bin

Then, it will clobber old files in /usr/local/bin and replace then with
symlinks to Xplor-NIH files.
