Hi Peter,

Can you please help bisect a bit further?  In the process of moving from 
1.16.99.1_2 to 1.17.0_0, I made a two intermediate steps to help bisecting 
issues:

1.16.99.1_3 : http://trac.macports.org/changeset/132694
1.16.99.901_0 : http://trac.macports.org/changeset/132696

Please try those two out and report back.
