Hi Jay I trust you're well.
I wonder if you can give me some guidance on an odd problem I have when running XRDP.
By way of background - I have XRDP running happily on my home desktop (running Ubuntu 10.10). With rdp port forwarding & a fixed IP on my home router, I routinely connect to it from my WinXP netbook when I'm out and about.
I've also set up a 2nd remote pc (again running Ubuntu 10.10) with the same set up at another remote site, with similar port forwarding. I've tried to connect to it with both my WinXP netbook and Ubuntu home desktop, but get the same problem.
It seems to connect first time (after a re-boot) and acts normally, but later in the day it connects but doesn't authenticate. I can select 'OK' and get to the log-on dialogue box, but all options result in the same unsuccessful authentication. I've added a screen shot, but I'm afraid it won't tell you much.
From the WinXP netbook I'm using 'Remote Desktop Connection'. From the Ubuntu desktop I'm using 'Terminal Services Client'.
I am wondering whether the log-off from the Ubuntu client isn't clearing down properly. When logging off I usually use the server 'log out', from both the netbook and desktop.
Btw- I can use ssh to get to the terminal on the remote server. Best Regards Chris Ford
