I use FreeRDP and from following that I'd ask about 8 months ago whether
xrdp would also be updated to support the same level of RemoteApp/RemoteFX
type capabilities from a Linux server that
can be provided from a Windows 2008 etc server.... and the answer was.. yes
someday ... that it was being looked at.

However, I just checked the xrdp sourceforge site "news" and there has been
no updates since june/july 2011:

Has there been any progress with xrdp/x11rdp?

Thanks, I have done several experiments with Guacamole
HTML5<http://guac-dev.org/>and the xrdp/x11rdp and it works pretty
well (using rdp not vnc). I did
use the excellent
http://scarygliders.net<http://scarygliders.net/2012/06/20/x11rdp-o-matic-and-rdpsesconfig-version-2/>
tool to automagically build both the latest git of xrdp/x11rdp and install
them for me which saved me alot of trouble <g>.

The Guacamole HTML5 does a nice job of using a browser for a remote desktop
so far and the latest release finally added audio/sound. But its still
going to be limited by what xrdp can do ... thus my question.

thanks

brian
