Hello,

I have logged into Ubuntu 13.04 from Windows using Remote Desktop Connection.

My .xsession file in my Ubuntu home directory has :

gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback

When I click the power button at the top right of screen, I see only a small
black rectangle with no options. Clicking on the clock or the speaker or the
network arrows shows that they are all fine. I see plenty of options, and a
calendar. Is this a bug ? Has anyone got a settings modification to fix this ?

If I am using the server directly, the Settings menu works fine. The problem
seems to be limited to X sessions.
