Everybody seems to have the same way of starting a project. I am left handed,
and I tend to work from the upper left-hand corner across the fabric or
canvas. This seems to keep my left and right hand from resting over stitching
I have already done.

If there is a border in the project that I'm working on, I usually work the
border across the top and down the sides about three (3) inches just to help
with the placements of other stitches. This seems to work for me well.

Everyone has great ideas, and some I think I will try. I love working on
linen more than any other fabric. I have done three Paula Vaughan pieces on
22 count hardinger and have been crazy enough to stitch her work on 36 count
linen. :-/ I like the way the work looks!
