Well, I'm not going to be much help but I just thought I would
share with you the stand I use. I asked my boyfriend if he
would buy me a floor stand for Christmas. I told him I had
seen a nice one in a local shop and I believed it was made by
someone locally. My boyfriend loves woodworking and I am
positive he has at least 6 of every type of tool available to man.
I can't be sure as we don't live together and I think he has
secret hiding places so that when I visit him I don't see all the tools.
Anyway, I took him to see this stand and he was disgusted, he
said I'll make you an even better one with all the bells and
whistles this one has and more. I'll even stain it to match your
furniture. So, he stood outside the store and sketched the stand.
Well, being as he is an engineer, you might imagine that it is perfect.
It only took him about a month to work out the design, cut the wood,
put it all together, apply the stain and deliver the finished product to
me. It is absolutely perfect and wonderful to boot, it only cost me
just a few smooches which I got some benefit from myself!!!
