I am mostly finished with Classic Kimono. Put the last of the burgundy
backstitching in last night, so now it's just a lot of metallic gold
backstitch. Was hoping to Happy Dance on that this weekend, but the weather
was so nice I had to go out and work in my garden instead (first dry weekend
we've had since early January). I had swapped the included floss for rayon,
and discovered that 1 strand of rayon doesn't give full coverage on Aida-18,
but 2 strands fills up the holes so much that it's &#@$%!! hard to push the
needle through for backstitching. (Rayon is slightly thicker than floss.) I
would like to work this pattern again for someone else, but will do it on
Aida-16 instead.
Went back to my Halloween banner for portable work, since I now have Kimono on
a large frame (my smaller one was in use). So far, I have "OWEEN" stitched.
(I had started it last Halloween, the day after I bought it, and with all the
doorbell ringing, got about 30 stitches in it all evening.)
Still have the Mickey Mouse pillow that was supposed to be a Christmas gift
about 2/3 done. Maybe this Christmas?
Have to finish knitting a hat for Mom's Bday, 3/21.
Want to get back to a bedsize afghan before it's too hot to work on.
