I, too, would be interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on competition. I
recently finished a piece that I would like to enter into competition. Not
because I think it's so great (!), but to get some pointers on what I may be
doing incorrectly. Has anyone entered a piece? I'm thinking of sending a
piece to the NCCSS in Arcola. I'm told that the judges go over every inch of
the design with a magnifying lens and will find the tiniest imperfection.
Then they give the entrant a written critique explaning why the particular
piece didn't place or make it into the top 10. But, I'm really worried that I
might be *crushed* when I read the critique! Is it really a let-down to read
the judge's evaluations?
