Hi Tina!
I'm one of Dimensions many stitchers. All the kits that they put out are
stitched up at least four times after they have the design set. They have
two people do preliminary tests to see how much thread needs to go in the
kit and see how long it will take to stitch. After the kit goes into
production they have it stitched twice again just to double check that the
finished product is ok. I did a couple of preliminary pieces for them, but
really don't have the time anymore. Their deadlines are pretty tight and
the pay stinks <g>. In both cases you get to keep the kit. Preproduction
work is paid, but usually at about $1/day and most kits need at least 3 or 4
hours of stitching per day. Post production is nice because they don't
worry about the deadlines as much (thank god!); you don't get paid, but you
get twice as long to stitch it and you still keep the kit.
