Here goes:
LNS #1(mentioned here as a fave by other posters, so unnamed):
After dealing with this shop for 7 years, two owners (current owner is
a long time friend of a coworker of mine), three locations, you would
think that the main assistant would not continue to greet me with
"Welcome to XXXX, is this your first here?". The real kicker was that
I had ordered a pattern from them. After 6 months, I ordered it
elsewhere. 4 weeks later, I got my pattern from the other LNS. 5
months later, LNS #1 called to say my pattern had come in (a whole
year later).
LNS #2
Me: I'd like to sign up for Linda Driskel's 1998 sampler
Shop Assistant: We have lots of classes
Me: I'd like to sign up for Linda Driskel's 1998 sampler
SA: We have XXX in December, and YYY starting in December, and over
here we will be having ZZZ in January.
Me: I'd like to sign up for Linda Driskel's 1998 sampler
SA: We have a one day class for AAA next week, and 3 day class for
BBB sometime in the spring
Me: I'd like to sign up for Linda Driskel's 1998 sampler
SA: So what would you like to do.
Me: <deep breath> I'd like to sign up for Linda Driskel's 1998 sampler

Doesn't it make you wonder sometimes if you are speaking ENGLISH!!!!!! It can
be so flustrating.
