Hi XStitchers
Every now and then I post when I do an update to Cross Stitching at the
MiningCo.com.
I just upgraded with a new Black Swan Alphabet that I am working on. The
design was inspired by recent Saturday antique outings with my next door
neighbor. She collects carousel horses. I had to have "something" to
start collecting ... so I started collecting these swan planters! What fun!
It is really fun to look for the black ones. I have yet to find a mini
black swan .. but I am looking! Anyway, to go along with my new swan
collection, which now fills one bookcase <g>; I started designing a Black
Swan Alphabet. I have the whole alphabet finished, but I only have Letters
A, B, C stitched, graphed and scanned (and uploaded). I hope to get the
rest of them done soon!
You can find the patterns at:

And guess what! I finally finished the charts for the Little Ort Port Angel
Sampler that I uploaded in October of 1997. I got a lot of requests wanting
to know when I was going to finish charting verses 9 and 10 and upload "The
Seventh Angel." Well this was the week! Again, I am particularly proud if
"The Seventh Angel" ... she is a "Cameo Rose Angel" -- again dedicated to one
of the best online pals I have (you all know her as CameoRoze of CameoRoze's
Stitcher's Studio
http://www.nidlink.com/~ddavaz/margaret/studio/studio.html
Cameo has been through a lot of losses in her family this year -- a lot more
stress and hurt than I think I could handle. I hope this little angel will
cheer her up!
Also, I have posted an update to the CAFA (Crafts and Fiber Arts Show) which
Jean Farish send in this weekend. You can find the link on the main page at
http://crossstitch.miningco.com
Hey, I have been busy! Since I have been doing my ABC's with the Black Swan
Alphabet, I have been surfing the web for alphabet links. You can find a
whole new category of Net Links in the Cross Stitching Net Links Library at
http://crossstitch.miningco.com/msub32.htm
Not only where there a lot of great free patterns online, there are a lot of
very nice alphabet leaflets out there, too. I found some really terrific
samplers and some very interesting articles about alphabets. For instance,
there is a page on a Bengali Sampler stitched more than 150 years ago! I
love it when stitchers share this information online. What interesting
reading!
I wish all of you happy stitches!
