Can anyone tell me where I can find a conversion chart for DMC Crewel wool
to DMC six stranded. The thread numbers are four digits and start with an
eight.

Any help would be appreciated!

TIA

Can you just remove the eight and have the rest of it make sense? I know
that it's the same basic way with flower thread - just remove the 2 in front
and the rest of the color number is the same.......

Tammy,

Congratulations on your finished Dragon Heart. It sounds like you'll be
busy
stitching!

For those that are new to these fibers (we all were once!), I have some
additional tips on stitching with veriagated and overdyed fibers. Want to
read
them? Send me a private e-mail with the following information:

I've started a form letter on this topic, and also look forward to hearing
what others have to say. If you'd like to see what I've got so far, send me
a

Dee,

I have done a few afghans and it all depends on who gets it as to how I
finish
them. If I am giving to a baby or toddler, I back it like a quilt and finish
the edges like a quilt. If I am giving to some one older, it all depends
again
on how it is finished. If the back is really messy, I will back it. I have
fringed the edges of a few, I have just hemed the edges. It also depends on
how much time I have to finish it as to how it gets finished.

Diantha,

Thanks for the quick response. When you fringed the afghan -- did you
fringe
it right up to the border edging?

Happy stitching,
Dee
