Although living alone and not dating much has its downside, I have noticed
one benefit: I'm getting a lot more XS done than I did when I was married!
(Even though I've worked a lot of overtime this month.) Without the snoring
to keep me awake half the night, I'm waking up long before the alarm and
getting in an hour or so of stitching before I have to go to work. Evenings
and weekends, I'm not wasting time cleaning up after someone else, which
gives me more time to stitch (I clean as I go all week, so I don't have to
spend an hour wandering around the house finding dishes and putting them in
the dishwasher, etc.)

I spent much of this afternoon enjoying our beautiful weather (around 80
degrees!), so have almost finished my three mice Mother's Day piece, and have
already selected the next project from my UFO basket: "God Blesses This
House, But He Doesn't Clean It". (Dirran has already asked me to send her
the chart when I'm done with it, so I'm going to try to work it up quickly so
I can get that in the mail.) Since my resident slob doesn't live here any
more, I probably don't need that sign any more, and am considering giving it
to Kat for Christmas ... her cats have a mortal fear of the vacuum cleaner,
so she only runs it once every 6 months out of consideration for them (that's
her story and she's sticking to it!) :)

As of 4:30 today, the entire left side of the mice-in-crocuses picture is
complete, including the backstitch (YAY!!!!!); on the right side, the mice
and flowers are done (and backstitched!), and I've begun the grass, leaves
and stems, which probably will be done by tomorrow afternoon. I want to do
one more happy dance before this list goes away!

If I finish the mice before I need to come back indoors tomorrow, I am going
to work on two UFOs which are complete except for the beads. The cats like
to help me too much to put the beads on when they are around, but I can do
that outside without their assistance. The wind is less likely to spill
hundreds of beads on the floor than the cats are! So I may get three happy
dances in one day. (Is that a record?)

Mary, please do send me, privately, the necessary e-mail addresses and
information on how we can keep this list going so I can make the arrangements
with the same company you're using. For professional reasons, I can't always
make an hour every day to handle the administrative stuff, but there are
enough of us who want to keep it going that I think I can get a group of
volunteers to rotate the chores. (Ladies, e-mail me privately if you want to
take a turn!)
