LOL funny you should say this. I have a related story.

The other day I had an hour on my hands, so decided to go snooping around a
little strip mall. I first stopped at a book store, mostly paperbacks. So I
asked the owner, "Do you have any needlework books?"

"No. We mostly carry paperbacks."

"OK. Thank you." and I turned to leave.

"Well, I do have this one ..." I stopped to look. It was "The New World of
Needlepoint: 101 Excited Designs in Bargello, Quickpoint, Grospoint and Other
Repeat Patterns" by Lisbeth Perrone. It's a hardbound book, the cover
slightly warped. But what the heck, right? The price was only $1.43. I
decided to buy it.

Then the shop owner said, "I don't do much of that, but my sister-in-law just
got me this cross-stitch thing. I'm not sure how to start."

LOL Well! THAT opened a door! So I told her about my love of the X and
about my website. The conversation flowed from there. She was not sure how to
begin. I told her about Kathy Dyer's FAQs -- especially the XS Tutorial. I
gave her my card (that has my website on it), and told her how to get to
Kathy's FAQ through my site.

At the end of the conversation, the shop owner just GAVE me the book as a
thank you for the information. :)

Ya just never know when you get to share your craft, eh?

The sequal to the story is that when I got home, I was putting my *new* book
on my shelf with the other needlework reference books ...... and realized I
already have a copy of this book! LOL The copy I have was my
Mom's, and I received it after her death (I'd forgotten that!). So ........
I guess I'll donate this copy of the book to my local EGA chapter library.

Yours in Stitches,

Cameo  @-->-->---
