None of them would be much different from any of the others. Using
"by" vs. "using" or alternate spellings are no problem. The only
concern I'd have is that by putting the "del" clause at the end of the
chunk there is a conceptual break which could lead to confusion. For
example, try:
put item 2 of line 3 of field 1 of card 2 of stack "x" using delimiter "/"

Usually enough of a concensus appears for our development purposes,
but I agree that it's far from adequate as a cohesive force in keeping
the various xTalk dialects tracking together. Somebody would need to
set up a voting system and we'd all have to use it if that is a goal
we want to achieve. This was actually what the list was set up for,
but it's not a huge priority around here anymore for obvious reasons.
And I'd hate to see the lack of a voting system bring progress on any
issue to a halt, which is unfortunately what seems to have happened
on a key issue over on the opencard list...
