The polite way to handle this would be for your application to ask
permission before sending the email. Or better yet, write the debugging
information to a text file (say, errTrace.txt) in a known place, and
then inform the user. They can then email it, fax it, or even print it
out and post you the paper copy.
Many people are upset to find out that their applications are secretely
sending information - even innocent information - to a second party. And
I don't blame them.
