The best.com mail server went down with a hard disk failure yesterday,
and best.com has announced that they don't have backups of the server
and won't even be bringing it back up as the mailing lists were a free
unsupported service. The MetaCard list will be moved to a new server
soon, but I've no idea about the HyperCard and Serf lists (and if they
didn't do manual backups, they're in bad shape now).
Just in case you were wondering where those lists went...

PS: I personally will never do business with Best.com or Verio again.
Of course, I wouldn't have ever done that anyway because we used to be
WWW hosting customers of theirs but dumped them because this kind of
crap seems to be standard operating procedure over there.
PPS: I also posted this message to the SuperCard list, but perhaps in
a mood of sympathy, it's been down for two days now too ;-)
