It only makes sense, if it will be a part of emacs in the future. When Xtla is included in emacs, it will be not acceptable to use a library that must be installed extra. An object oriented approach can be one solution to build a dvc layer. But I also remember some statements from the lisp community, that one can get the same functionality with an functional approach.
