I must correct my self. It is not the uniqueness, but the completion list which should contain an trailing "/" after the archive when completing more than just an archive name. This way one gets the / "without" typing it and he also gets visual feedback that there is more to type. Another thing: Selecting an completion from completion list causes and error and displays "A/C--B--V" if its not fully complete at that time. Rather than an error it may just show the new set of available completions or if complete just eat it. Use the completion buffer for find-file to get an impression how I think it should feel ...
