/**************************************************************************/ [bugs #748] Full Item Snapshot: URL: <http://gna.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=748> Project: xtla.el Submitted by: Matthieu MOY On: Sat 09/18/2004 at 20:29 Category: None Severity: 5 - Average Priority: 7 - High Resolution: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: moy Originator Email: Status: Open Summary: xtla doesn't manage correctly unnamed branches Original Submission: Example of what is an unnamed branch: $ tla branches [EMAIL PROTECTED] unnamed unnamed--named unnamed--otherbranch $ tla versions [EMAIL PROTECTED] unnamed--0 $ tla versions [EMAIL PROTECTED] unnamed--named--0 (The [EMAIL PROTECTED] archive is available here: http://www-verimag.imag.fr/~moy/arch/test/) Please note that the actual name of a branch can't be the empty string ([EMAIL PROTECTED] is not a legal version name). The direct consequence of this is that we can manage unnamed branch by just naming the corresponding branch "". Note also that a version name can contain only digits and dots, whereas a branch name must begin with a letter. Therefore, [EMAIL PROTECTED] is necessarily a version name and not a branch name. I can see at least 3 places where xtla should be modified to manage unnamed branches: * Name reading engine * Archive tree builder * string full name <-> (archive category branch version) conversion functions.
