I am not sure, which problem would you like to solve by removing
ewoc.el from contrib.

The development focuses now on dvc. I have no problem with removing it for my
platform.
What was the reason that we included it - perhaps XEmacs support?

ewoc.el in contrib is not activated by default. You need to add it to
your loadpath to use it. So it should do no harm.

What do others think?
