exists in 10.10 since 10.04 maybe even 09.10 have 2 10.10 xubuntus one has clean xubuntu 10.10 other has also gnome-volume-control in both on shutdown (if beforee doing that i set volume to more then 0%) then i see notification Volume changed to 0% that happens on shutdown/restart but not on logging out
